Helping Children in Uganda Access Education Through Sponsorship

Step Up Family Organisation (SUFO) is a UK and Uganda registered children’s charity helping children access education, food and essential support through child sponsorship.

We believe a child’s circumstances should not determine their opportunity to learn.

Through our child sponsorship programme in Uganda, sponsors help children of nursery, primary and secondary school age attend school and receive the practical support they need to continue their education.

Sponsor a Child in Uganda

For many of the children we support, sponsorship provides something incredibly important: stability.

Sponsorship helps provide:

• School fees and access to education
• School uniform, bag and essential school supplies
• Food
• Everyday clothing and essentials
• A birthday party & outfit
• A Christmas outfit

Some of our children are currently waiting for sponsors, including children who have previously been sponsored and need someone new to step in so their education can continue.

More Than School Fees

Education is at the heart of what we do, but supporting a child often means looking at the bigger picture.

Alongside sponsorship, Step Up Family Organisation raises funds to provide facilities, equipment and services that support children’s education, wellbeing and development in Uganda.

Our aim is not simply to get children into a classroom. We want to give them greater stability, opportunities and hope for their future.

Where Your Sponsorship Money Goes

SUFO is run by volunteers.

Sponsorship payments, donations and fundraising income are used to support the children and our work in Uganda.

School fees are paid directly to schools, while items such as food, clothing and other essentials can be purchased by our team and provided directly to the children and their carers.

This allows us to see where support is going and make sure it is being used for its intended purpose.
